DeepNude closed in 2019, but the demand and the technology did not disappear — they scattered into a dozen competing tools.

When the original DeepNude application shut down in mid-2019, it had already demonstrated that a GAN could transform a clothed photograph into a convincing nude in seconds. The code leaked, forks appeared, and by 2024 at least ten consumer-facing deepnude generators were operating openly, each pitching a different model, a different price, and a different promise about what happens to your uploads. The space is more crowded now, and telling the real improvements from recycled forks with new paint requires running every tool through the same controlled test — which is what this page reports.

Model architecture is the first differentiator. Some tools still run GAN-based pipelines close to the original DeepNude design; others have migrated to latent diffusion, which generally handles fabric boundaries and complex poses better but introduces its own failure modes — hallucinated limbs, inconsistent lighting on the generated region, or a visible seam where the inpainted area meets the original background. Start with the free tier. Every generator that offers one gives you enough runs to judge output quality on your own image — but do it strategically. Use a well-lit, front-facing photo first, then test a harder scenario: side angle, patterned fabric, or low light. If the tool handles both, it will handle most of what you throw at it. If it struggles on the second, the premium tier will struggle too — you are paying for faster access, not a different model.

After quality, check the privacy page. Look for three specifics: how long the source image is stored, whether generated results are retained, and whether the terms allow using your uploads as training data. If any of those answers are vague or missing, treat the tool as if it stores everything indefinitely.
